Goldman Sachs College Collaborative Program

March 20, 2017

Global investment firm Goldman Sachs has been working with 10 students in the NJCU School of Business, offering insight to address real-world corporate problems.

This new initiative, the Goldman Sachs College Collaborative Program, assigns students 鈥淏usiness Case Challenges鈥 on topics covering a wide range of corporate matters, such as mergers, expansion, public relations and diversity. Under the mentorship of Goldman Sachs traders and managers, the NJCU students play roles within the corporation (CEO, COO, Communications Director, etc.) and coordinate their efforts to arrive at efficient, ethical, and fiscally responsible solutions. The Goldman Sachs executives visit the NJCU students once a month at the NJCU School of Business.

The Goldman Sachs College Collaborative Program also works with three other area colleges and periodically assembles all participating students in a larger lecture hall to provide guidance on more general corporate expectations such as professionalism and etiquette. The program subsidizes the students鈥 travel to site locations, including a planned visit to Goldman鈥檚 corporate headquarters in New York City.

NJCU students were selected for the program through a rigorous process of writing samples, interviews, and faculty recommendations. Though participation in the program does not ensure a job at Goldman upon graduation, it certainly provides each student with the skills to be an appealing job applicant.
